Well, whatever utopian vision a person might have for the future, in the here and now (or the there and then) there are still bills to pay. Support it or not, we all have to live under a capitalist system, at least for the moment, and that means we all have to find a way of bringing in money.
But there’s also a difference between “bring in token minorities to prove you’re inclusive while you ignore them,” and “bring in minorities to provide different voices and perspectives in an effort to make the group better able to relate to a wide variety of people.”
