Episode 303: 10% inspiration, 90% appropriation
It’s all in the presentation, I guess. Maybe Gyno-Star needs to offer up her ideas in a more… muscular fashion.
A quick note on comments: I do moderate comments here, and it’s 100% at my discretion, based on what I like and don’t like. I welcome lively conversation, including criticism. And while everyone’s entitled to an opinion, everyone is not entitled to use my platform to express it. If you write a comment and it gets deleted, and you want to know why, feel free to email me and I’ll happily discuss it with you. Or just go “She’s weird” and move on. Either way, if you do comment thanks for taking the time to engage. And thanks as always for reading!
OH AND HAPPY CHANUKAH!
Happy Chanukah to you too!
Thanks! ๐
WHAT would they do without him? (Sarcasm included)
Heโs like a Hannukah gift for the whole team!
So… even superheroes have typical meetings… ๐
I wish I could include a comment that did not include the words “I really wish that something like that hadn’t happened to me”…unfortunately, it did…a few times.
Sigh….
I just had a brilliant thought: I wish I could say that nothing like this has ever happened to me. But it has! A few times.
Oh, heeeell naw!
PIIIIIIZZZZZZZAAAAAA!!!!
How’s that for taking the time to engage? ;D
Happy Chanukah! Great title! I was trying to come up with a play on “workshopping,” (such as “Jerkshopping”) but it wasn’t clear or contextually strong enough.
I like the premise though.
The only unrealistic part of this is that Gynostar looks so surprised. :-/
Happy Chanukah; molotov!
*silly giggle*
Hehehe.
Maybe she should have explained her idea in the form of a Powerpoint presentation.
Stealing credit of other people’s ideas… superguy(?) is a pointy haired boss?
Nah, this is adressing the problem that no one listens to a woman who has a great idea, but when a man repeats it … this happens. He’s quite an ordinary guy – although one would expect that a hero is more honest. Well, yeah. No idealized superzeroes, here.
I meant heroes, of course.
I LOVE that Mr. Excellent is wearing Wonder Woman’s panties. I suspect he stole those, too. ๐
And then probably thought she copied the idea from him.
Does he wear Wonder Woman’s panties? I don’t remember to have ever seen her panties, tbh.
(I wonder … is stealing other people’s ideas Mr. Excellent’s superpower? The name would suggest that he is considered, well, excellent by others.)
Saw this article and immediately thought of Gyno-star: http://www.wsj.com/articles/in-china-expectant-dads-line-up-to-experience-labor-pains-1418945344
Brilliant. Yes. Have witnessed that kind of attitude.
You know, it’s possible he doesn’t even know he’s doing it. Maybe he’s so used to not actually listening to women that he didn’t consciously hear her at all, and thought the voice was actually his brain communicating an idea.
Of course, anyone who would steal Wonder Woman’s panties can’t really be trusted, so there’s really no way to know for sure, is there? *grin*
I give up. I guess this is another one I can remove from my comics reading pages. I’m beginning to think that patreon site is a jinx to all comic artists. Every comics artist I’ve seen join it stops updating their page almost immediately. I don’t believe that’s how it’s supposed to work.
Hey, lee, I’m really sorry about the long holiday break, but I’ve got a new comic ready to post on Monday. I really should’ve posted to let people know I was taking a couple weeks off — that was remiss of me.
But don’t blame Patreon — since I started my Patreon, I’ve been updating much more regularly than before.
I hope you’ll forgive me for taking some time off and keep reading, because I’m really enjoying this story line and I don’t want you to miss it.
I wonder if this is a real phenomenon, and if creators tend to go to Patreon when theyโre facing short-term financial difficulty.
I’m a little disappointed. As much as I do like Gynostar, and the concept, it feels like (almost) everyone she meets is sexist, like she never meets someone who isn’t. It might be a change of pace to see her run into a character who isn’t, but that she, wrongly, assumes is simply because of her past experience.
